R/V Meridata

Research vessel equipped with high resolution bathymetric echo sounder, sediment echo sounder, marine seismic data acquisition and processing equipment and software

Each year, R/V Meridata spends six months in active duty with development and field testing of new Meridata systems and product demonstrations. In addition, time is devoted to training sonar system operators for our customers.

General specifications

bulletLength: 11.70 m
bulletWidth: 3.70 m
bulletDraft: 0.80 m
bulletDisplacement: 11 t
bulletPropulsion: 2*248 kW Marine diesel engines, water jets
bulletSpeed: 30 kn max.

For deployment of sound sources and hydrophones, the vessel has two in-hull acoustic "viewports", one fixed and one that allows "on-the-fly" mounting of sound source or transducer.

Survey equipment

R/V Meridata is equipped with Meridata sonar systems for demonstration and training sessions in bathymetry and sub-bottom profiling. Vessel positioning and attitude sensors are integrated to the survey systems to allow in-depth analysis of survey techniques and navigational aspects as well as sonar system operation.
