MD DSS is Meridata's newest sonar system for marine geophysical and geological surveys, high resolution sedimentation studies and bathymetry. Pinger, chirp and seismics in a single systemNo system in the marketplace has so far been offering sophisticated acquisition and treatment of sonar data, while providing a wide range of acoustic methods over an impressive frequency range of 10 Hz to 40 kHz. |

Below are two examples of sub-bottom profiles collected with MD DSS. True multi-mode operation gives MD DSS unequalled capabilities, allowing you to acquire seismic and side scan data, while performing high resolution chirp and pinger profiling, all with a single system.

Plugging the MD DSS hardware into your PC gives you complete control over your sonar system, as well as powerful tools for processing and visualization of your sonar data.
In the past, binding acoustic data with position has been difficult to say the least. One of the inherent capabilities within MD DSS is sophisticated integration of position and vessel attitude data. This approach also facilitates seamless interfacing with virtually any GIS.

The MD DSS is a complete sub-bottom profiler system. However, it can also be interfaced to existing seismic/acoustic equipment and wet-end components, such as air guns, boomers, sparkers, transducers and hydrophone arrays. Some of the other notable features are: waveform generator, full wave raw data logging, advanced edge detection and tracking algorithms, and complete integration with positioning systems and other survey instrumentation.
